Shopping Malls

Amsterdam is known for it’s quality shops and small boutiques. It’s no surprise that there are some excellent shopping malls in the city.

De Bijenkorf

De Bijenkorf is one of the largest shopping malls in Amsterdam and home to a wide variety of high street stores and designers. There is also a selection of bars and restaurants to choose from to keep you refreshed on your shopping trip. De Bijenkorf is known in the city for having regular sales where you can make big savings on homeware, electronics, clothing and accessories.

Magna Plaza

The Magna Plaza is worth a visit just to see the impressive neo-gothic architecture of the building. It used to be the Head Post Office of Amsterdam. Inside however it hosts many luxury designer stores, some with tax free shopping. You can find brands such as Boss, Mango, Replay and Diesel. There are three cafes selling a selection of coffees and light meals starting at €5. For film fanatics there is also DVD Valley with a massive range of current and classic movies to choose from.

Kalvertoren

The Kalvertoren shopping mall is an impressive modern building housing 4 floors of stores, restaurants and cafes. The top floor hosts Blue, an impressive restaurant that is worth visiting for the view. The restaurant is open 7 days a week to diners and also hosts private parties. On the lower floors there are branded clothing stores such as Levi and Quiksilver, luxury goods and foods such as the delicious Leonidas chocolate shop and stores of beauty staples like Lipstick Glossy. There is fashion and accessories on sale for all budget ranges and tastes and the mall has a relaxed feel to it.
