Drink prices
Anyone who has ever been to Amsterdam knows that eating, and dining out are a daily activity that the Dutch highly enjoy. Because of this exact reason, it is not surprising that there are more than a thousand restaurants, bars, and pubs throughout this small country. However, the alcohol prices can vary greatly depending on the type of place one goes to, and where it is located. This is very important to understand, and keep in mind.

So what is the priciest place to go to?
In Dam Square, the prices of alcohol are typically a bit more expensive, they have always been expensive, however. The places I am talking about are places like the Euro Pub and such. The price they charge for a pint of beer is €7 (USD 9.50). With the currency exchange rate, drinking can almost be considered expensive. There are places, however that charge less than this.
If one has ever been to Amsterdam, they would know about the Red Light District. For those who haven’t been, or don’t know about the Red Light District; it is basically a large area that covers the older part of Amsterdam. Prices here can be a little less expensive. If one was looking to buy a half liter of beer they would be looking at about €4.50 (~USD 6.14). For those who are looking to buy a spirit, or something of such they would be looking at about €7 (USD 9.50) in the Red Light District.
There are also Irish bars around Amsterdam which sell beer for a fair price. A pint of Guinness in one of these Irish bars would be about €5.20 (USD 7.10). This is actually very expensive compared to the low prices offered in America, but it is a low price to pay for the amount of fun one could accomplish.
If one is strapped on cash, and wants to find the best drink prices around Amsterdam, there is a place called Coco’s. Coco’s offers happy hour from 5-6 every day. During happy hour, one could find a pint of beer for only €2.50 (USD 3.41). At Coco’s, there are typically a lot of daily deals that they offer during happy hour (half price, etc.).
I know everyone loves great deals like the place above, so I have gone and found some great places that I’m sure everyone will enjoy, they also have great prices!
Slantie Irish Pub- Buy one get one free from 3-4pm and 7-8pm
Susie’s Saloon- A pint of beer for €2.50 (USD 3.41) from 4pm-6pm and 10:30pm-11:30pm
The Winston- Two for the price of one until 9pm
Prices in Amsterdam can be very expensive, but if one looks for the right place, they could find drink prices for a very reasonable price. It is all about going at the right time. I have listed a few great places with great reviews, but there are ample more all throughout Amsterdam. It’s all about searching for the great deals that are offered.
